Among the causes of the victory of the Islamic revolution was that, mosques, especially in Tehran, were bastion of people’s mobilization and congregation and equipping the fighters. Documents left from SAVAK and Tehran’s police departments show that these mosques were acting in special concert like intermediary links between people and the leaders of the Islamic revolution. Other activities of the mosques can be recognized as exposing the nature of the regime, keeping the values alive, teaching religious commandments, in particular in the area of fight against moral corruption, oppression, tyranny, despotism and colonialism; reviving the memory of Imam(may Allah be pleased with him), exposing the intentions of the Pahlavi regime from implementation of some policies and so on.
